About Corey Tanner

I began my journey to becoming a psychotherapist by majoring in Psychology at Mercer University. From there, I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University, where I completed my internship working in an acute psychiatric hospital completing initial evaluations, leading group therapy, conducting individual sessions, and working with individuals to find appropriate resources and support upon discharge. I continued my training and supervision as a resident therapist at Metropolitan Counseling Services, completing the requirements for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia.

While I take an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy, I work mainly from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model. I believe that utilizing and applying different theoretical approaches and interventions to match the individual client is most effective in helping the client reach their desired goals and outcomes.
